Does Cash Manager Bank Reconciliation allow you to do partial clearing of an item?

Hello.  Can anyone tell me if in SL's Cash Mgr. Bank Recon module, you have the ability to partially reconcile an item?  It seems when we first started using it, we tried using that option but it didn't work correctly.  We entered the amount we wanted to clear but in the end, we were out of balance because it either didn't reflect the partial amount or it reflected the full amount despite our entering the partial amount.  It's been over a year and I honestly don't recall which was the issue.  We have a new account for which the ability to partially clear an item would be very helpful because of an issue we have with early statement cut-off dates versus our AP's process of posting for the full month.  Thanks.
