Putting Employees into a Resource Group

A client was wondering if it was possible to create a Resource Group for all of the employees of a department (say, Engineering). Then assign that group to a project in such a way that all of the employees are assigned. Seems like an elegant way to cut down on data entry, but I haven't been able to figure out a way to do it other than cutting and pasting from a spreadsheet.

Any ideas?
